If you are thinking of taking your family to watch the newest Star Wars movie, you might be asking, “Is The Mandalorian and Grogu Appropriate for Kids?”  It is only fair that I share our family’s review, but first, let me give you a disclosure that we are some of the largest Grogu fans ever.  My daughter is obsessed and has been since the first series came out.

We love to quote Mando, too!  For this movie, check out our list of The Mandalorian and Grogu movie quotes. This post contains affiliate links at no cost to you.

What is the movie rated?

The movie The Mandalorian and Grogu is rated PG-13 for sci-fi violence and action, but I think it would be fine for young kids if they are used to watching other action movies. Think of all the violent Star Wars fight scenes, and if you are okay with some fighting, then your kid should be fine.

What are the main themes of the movie?

The main theme of the movie is about parenting and growing up.  It is that adults take care of their kids, and then kids take care of their adults.  Life is messy, but eventually your kids will be okay on their own.

Is the movie too long for little kids?

The movie has a runtime of 2 hours and 12 minutes.  There was a point in the movie at about an hour and 50 minutes, I wondered, wait…is it done? But then, of course, there were still more plots to finish and cover.  There were seven of us who went to see the movie, and we all made it through without taking any breaks.

Are there any explicit content or scenes that may not be suitable for my family?

No

Is the movie available in 2D or 3D?

Yes, it is available in 3D MX4D, which is wild if your family wants to see it this way.

Does the movie have any controversial or sensitive themes?

Just typical Star Wars sides and the evil empire.

Movie Review

Our family really enjoyed the movie.  We knew we were going into it, where this was going to be a lot of two of our favorite characters.  Anytime we see Grogu on the screen, we are smiling!  We thought the action was really good and enjoyed the cinematography on some of the film effects, and either the CGI frame rates or the rendering type that really felt like traditional films.  As the movie continues, the upclose scenes feel more like the Mandalorian series, but they definitely bring in some of the traditional characteristics that Star Wars fans love.
