Kansas City is featured prominently in the new film, opening only in theatres Friday, June 12th. Emily Blunt’s character is a weather person at a fictional KC Television station.

Inspired by the film’s mysterious red-feathered birds, 1,000 vibrant origami cardinals will appear at key locations across New York City, Kansas City, and Los Angeles on May 27 — the same day advance tickets for the film go on sale. In each city, 100 of the cardinals will include unique Fandango promo codes redeemable for two free tickets to see the film.
