itWorks Wrap Review Kit: Do Body Wraps Really Work?
I was SHOCKED when Enza asked me to review some of the super popular It Works! products! The It Works! line claims to tight, tone, firm, and improve skin’s texture. After having four kids in just under five years (yes, I am insane!), I was excited to test the Ultimate Body Applicators, Defining Gel, and Greens (a dietary supplement).
Before wrapping with the Ultimate Body Applicator, I watched a little video and Googled some tips for getting the best results from the wraps. I also took some photos of my poor stretched-out belly, and recorded my measurements. (I chose to wrap my tummy, but wraps can be use just about anywhere!) A good friend of mine is an It Works! distributor and suggested I sleep in the applicator. So after about eight hours, I peeled off my plastic wrap (you wrap yourself in plastic wrap to hold the applicator in place!) and noticed a slight change in my skin’s texture. My stretch marks–which are more like crevices!–seemed a little less defined, and I lost nearly two inches (combining the measurements of three different places on my stomach), so I looked forward to wrapping again after the suggested 72 hours! I wrapped three more times (with three days in between each application), and saw similar results each time. Every morning after using the wraps, I witnessed a slight change in my stomach’s texture, and lost roughly a couple inches on my belly. On the days in between wrapping, it appeared I gained back those inches I lost, darn it! Maybe it was because I measured in the morning and I hadn’t eaten anything yet. Who knows!
I used the Defining Gel twice a day, after showering and before bed. I also tried out the Greens, which supposedly have a “great orange taste”…I beg to differ. The package recommends mixing the supplement with water or juice. I tried water and couldn’t force myself to drink all 8 oz., so I decided to mix another packet in some natural applesauce. Muuuuuch better! My husband, ahem, had a little too much fun one night and drank the Greens with water the next morning. He said he felt a little better not long after, so I guess that little green powder actually DOES detoxify!
I must say I was hoping to see some crazy results like the before and after pictures I found at bodywraps.net, but I was happy to see some little changes in my skin’s texture. I might even purchase some more wraps before a trip to Florida in July to see if I can achieve an even tighter tummy! If you’re skeptical of It Works! Ultimate Body Applicators and the other It Works! products, I say give them a shot! They are certainly cheaper than a trip to the spa and far less abrasive than plastic surgery!
