Introducing Laura!
Hello all I’m Laura with Extreme Southern Couponing. I’m engaged to a wonderful man and between us we have eight kids – yes we have a BIG family!! I’ve always used coupons here and there but I didn’t start couponing “extreme” until around March of 2011. I saw one of my friends posting these amazing pictures of her shopping trips only spending just a few dollars so I had to learn more. I researched and researched as most of you probably did when you first started out. I was coming to a standstill due to the fact of the bloggers I could find were states and states away and the pricing was no where near the same. So I started my blog to help those closer to home and it’s blossomed from there.
Why did you start couponing?
I started couponing because having eight kids on a one income family can put a strain on any family. I wanted to help out anyway I could. And more than anything it struck my curiosity “how” it was being done and I was determined to learn.
What is the best advice you have for someone just starting to coupon?
My best advice is to get yourself organized first with your coupons then to start SMALL don’t try to tackle every deal at every store or you’ll soon find yourself discouraged. Start with one or two stores planning small trips and work your way out. You don’t want to burn yourself out.
How did do you organize your coupons?
I organize my coupons with the Binder Method and categorize as what fits my families needs. There is no right or wrong way to organize your coupons, whichever way is easiest for you.
