Matthew Vaughn’s precise and comic book like approach to violence is on display again in “Kingsman: The Secret Service.” This is a high energy action movie that in it’s action scenes will remind you of “Kill Bill” or “Kickass.” Samuel L. Jackson is wonderful in his role as an eccentric super-villain, Valentine, who is absolutely disgusted by blood. He’s hilarious and breaks up the massive amounts of violence with timely humor.
Your husband/boyfriend will be on the edge of his seat, but this may or may not sound like a movie for you, trust me you will not be bored. It’s not the normal explosions and cheesy lines. The dialog and story will keep you interested. But my favorite part of the entire movie is Sophia Boutella’s portrayal of Gazelle!
Gazelle is Valentine’s assistant/lover. She’s also an amazing assassin. You’re introduced to her in an unbelievable way as she cleans a room for Valentine’s arrival. It’s amazingly violent without being too gory followed by the hilarious entrance of Valentine.
This movie is not for the feint of heart, not for those without a sense of humor AND DEFINITELY NOT FOR CHILDREN! If you’re looking for a movie you will both enjoy for a night away from the kids I think this is it. Your geek side will be fulfilled with all the spy-tech.
