As you all know, a couple of weeks ago, we all got a really good deal at Silly Souls. Gaggle of Chicks was still offering their $10 credit (they are not offering it right now) for new sign ups who signed up under a referral link.
I was told that Silly Souls had some issues with their merchant account reading the gift certificates that were purchased. I believe they are not a really large company and were overwhelmed with the awesome sales, but did not expect the technical issues that went on with their merchant account.
I originally e-mailed them and they responded quickly. After a week, I called them, and they were nothing but nice over the phone.
After several days of still waiting for my credit card to be credited it finally was today. I also love the merchandise that I received! I think this is a great learning experience for an emerging company to be ready and prepared for customers to jump on a great sale!
Technical issues happen with every company. Being a “now” generation…nobody likes waiting. If you are still having issues they have asked that you e-mail them directly. I am hoping they are just going through each e-mail chronologically right now. I am glad it isn’t my inbox. =)
Will I do business with Silly Souls again? Perhaps. I would give them another chance to work things out on the technical side and consider this experience, just bad luck. If they had an overwhelming number of orders to go through and fix and not enough staff or time to do it in the manner we would prefer…then I sort of understand. In the long run, I got super cute gift for my baby and super cute gift for a friend! Perhaps, a written apology (Tide Style) would help the bad taste that lots of customers were left with for a problem that may or may not have been prevented.
