Early Man Review & Giveaway

Early Man
Movie Review by Myla Tosatto

Just so you know, the new movie Early Man is not historically accurate. I know this because men never lived at the same time as dinosaurs and said dinosaurs never hugged each other when they were wiped off the planet. Also, however stylish and cute, giant caterpillars were never used for cleats. See? Paying attention in history class paid off!

HOGNOB and DUG (Eddie Redmayne) in EARLY MAN.

The creative people of Aardman are back with Early Man. If you enjoyed Shaun the Sheep, The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (or anything Wallace & Gromit), and Chicken Run, this movie is for you. This stop-motion, claymation style animation cartoon is about a tribe of early man meeting the Bronze Age head on. And when I say head on, I mean in an epic winner take all soccer game.

Dug (Eddie Redmayne) is the loveable heart behind the tribe’s soccer team, Chief (Timothy Spall) plays the wisdom spouting elder and Goona (Maisie Williams) is the outsider that ties the team together. They face the deliciously evil Lord Nooth (Tom Hiddleston) and his love of money. Rounding out the talented voice cast is Rob Brydon playing the cheeky Message Bird and the sports commentators, Brian and Bryan.

Who is this movie for? The aforementioned lovers of all things Wallace & Gromit, of course, and any sport-o’s you have in your life (especially those who love soccer/football). The movie is about working together as a team and that teams are stronger together than single individuals. Because of this, I say load up your kids’ teams and take them to the movies! Get them ready for the upcoming spring season!
