Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar Review & Giveaway

I don’t know about you, but I don’t always go to the movies to see the latest brain bender or the hottest new Oscar movie or the cleverest thriller.  Sometimes I go just to laugh.  Sometimes you just gotta laugh.  And laugh you will when you watch Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar.  This movie is not going to win an Oscar nor is it going to make you get ahead on the Mensa scale.  This movie is a big, goofy, glorious film celebrating Barb and Star and the women who play them: Annie Mumulo and Kristen Wiig.  Yes, these two were also the screenwriters of this movie as well as being the Oscar nominated screenwriters behind Bridesmaids.  Now, I’m not a psychic, but I’m pretty sure this script isn’t going to be up for an Academy Award, and that’s okay.  What I do know, is that it will give you a serious case of the giggles.

Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar Review

Barb (Annie Mumulo) and Star (Kristen Wiig) are two middle aged women that have lost their husbands, their jobs, and sadly, their shimmer.  After being kicked out of their womens’ talk group (made up of the talented comedians Vanessa Bayer, Fortune Feimster, Phyllis Smith, and Rose Abdoo) and hearing the recommendation of the fabulous times to be had in Vista Del Mar by friend Mickey (Wendi McLendon-Covey), Barb and Star head to Vista Del Mar.

Vista Del Mar is full of handsome men (Jamie Dornan), talking crabs, song and dance numbers, tropical drinks with surprise treasures, turtle houses, and weird sci fi plots involving mosquitos.  In short, Vista Del Mar is a place you will want to visit with Barb and Star.  Just make sure you pack your rope, culottes, and curlers.  So, sit back, eat your hot dog soup, sing along with Babs singing Guilty and watch Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar.  And laugh, please laugh.
