I viewed this movie at the Disney Channel office in LA while I was there for an expense paid press trip.
If you love Disney fairytales and if you are a fan of villains you are going to love Disney’s Descendants. It has dance, music, and the curiosity of learning more about Disney’s villains! This time it is a story about their kids, the “descendants”. What happens with the Villains, what happens with their kids? There are tons of unanswered questions. I personally have always been fascinated with the villains in the story and their motives. I found Maleficent to be so entertaining, fun, and interesting that this movie had me pretty hyped to watch when I had heard about it!
As watching the movie, I was in such a good mood. Watching the music and dance numbers in the movie were so much fun! They told the story along with the acting. The choreography was so good! Of course it was, when you have a name like Kenny Ortega in charge of it!? You will know him from High School Musical!
Descendants is about Belle and Beast’s son, Ben, has a wish and he thinks that the children from the Island of the Lost (where all the villains were forced to live) should get a chance to go to school and live in their land! He tells his parents, “their children are innocent and deserve a chance at a normal life.”
The villains’ kids, while living in the Island of the Lost feel misunderstood. They feel that because of their parents that they are rotten to the core. Once they receive their invite to leave Island of the Lost their parents give them a mission to go and steal the fairy God Mother’s Magic Want! During their adventure Mel tricks the Prince in falling in love with her and everything goes crazy. Will the kids really be “rotten to the core” or are they innocent and are able to determine their own faith and lives despise that their parents are evil villains?
You will laugh, be on the edge of your seat, and have so much energy while watching this movie because of the awesome singing and dance numbers! If you have a kid who loves the Disney Channel (especially those tweens) they are going to be LOVING and probably obsessed with this movie!
