About Shannon:

Shannon Messenger graduated from the USC School of Cinematic Arts, where she learned—among other things—that she liked watching movies much better than making them. My daughters and I are reading the books together.  We just started and my oldest old me she was going to take the book with her and read ahead. I really wanted to read it with her because I also found the story very good.

I love how Messenger keeps us in suspense from chapter to chapter.  Her books make it tough to put the book down.  Times flies by really fast when we start reading her books.  The books are recommended for ages 8 to 12.  I would have to say that my youngest daughter is also enjoying the books.

  27. We really enjoyed the Harry Potter books, the Wildwood series, and the Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland series of books. As you can tell, we are really into YA fantasy books.

  70. Both of my children enjoy the Harry Potter series. I enjoyed reading Nancy Drew when I was younger.

  73. The Hunger Games!!! Best series of books ever, I read them all over a work vacation! I have them on my shelf now, waiting for my daughter, she is juuuuuust out of range of reading them, but I think by next school year they are coming down!

  77. I really liked the game of throne books they were all pretty good. I liked the Harry Potter series. I don’t know about my nephews or nieces.

  80. I loved the Twilight Saga when I was younger! My son is 10 and he is currently reading A Series of Unfortunate Events.

  83. When my son was a tween, his favorite was the Twilight Series, lol!

  94. Most definitely Terry Brooks’ Shannara series, I’ve been obsessed since I was 12!
