This conversation about teaching literacy to your preschooler is brought to us by our friends from the new Amazon Prime show, Bookaboo!

Teach Literacy to Your 3 Year Old with Bookaboo!

When it comes to choosing shows my for my preschooler to watch, I prefer those that are educational and entertaining. Bookaboo is a new Amazon Original Kids Series show that is airing on October 28th! This new Amazon show can help teach literacy to your 3 year old and other preschoolers!

I love watching the shows because of all of the celebrity appearances! You will see special guests like Paula Abdul, Hanna Simone, Selma Blair, Adam Copeland, Antonio Brown, and MORE!

The show is to promote literacy and reading to your kids! Having my kids enjoy reading! Reading for enjoyment is really important and helps kids in every subject area! It also builds confidence and fun! Did you know that only half as many parents are reading to their kids as there was a generation ago? I am feeling guilty for the nights that I skipped out on reading.

Each episode has a great combination of a good book, a fun story, music, and celebrities!

Are you looking for ways to help teach literacy to your preschooler? If so I have some great tips that should help! Reading should be fun so make it fun!

  1. Read to your preschooler daily! Allow them to choose some books and be animated, as you read to them! Try to use funny voices and sound effects!
  2. Thinking of rewarding your kids? Having them pick out a book online and having them “get mail” makes it really fun! It creates anticipation and excitement as they are waiting to get their package!
  3. Create a NEW routine and spend some time at the library!
  4. Have a special reading corner in your house! At times we like to read with a flashlight.

The entire first season of Bookaboo is available on Amazon Prime October 28th and you can actually get the episodes to watch offline as well! You can sign up for a free Amazon Prime trial to test out the show! Also streaming is easy if you visit www.amazong.com/howtostream.

Amazon Video comes with your Amazon Prime Service! It allows you to watch popular shows and movies, you can add on subscriptions of networks typically watched from cable providers, you can rent to own thousands of titles, get instant access to other shows, and also view premium features!

Wish we had these kind of study aids when we were kids. We only had books to learn from back then! Times have really changed!

Great tips…I have a 3 year-old who is much further behind than where her brother was at this age.
