Teacher’s Picture Goes VIRAL: This time the students will learn their lesson! I hope.

I am writing this article and being completely biased because I am a computer teacher too! I have taught social media and I do my best to always tell my high school students about the importance of what they put online for everyone to see.  Their tweets, blogs, and Facebook pages are public for everyone to see.  Some (even grown ups) feel that what they put online is safe if nobody knows the face behind what they post.  Posts and comments become mean and insensitive.   I have seen students pictures turned in to vicious memes with the pictures they post online making it a serious issue of cyber bullying which is illegal.  Fan pages that bully other people are also popular.

This teacher had her picture posted and on this page alone it was shared about a million times…by the time you read this article it will be a million!  This isn’t the only issue of internet abuse we are seeing…but it is a serious topic where students/kids, teachers, parents, and community should gather together to teach students how to censor what they put online for the world to see!

This picture was even altered to make it look like she was somewhere else…and I AM sure that sign can be easily photoshopped to say what other people want her to think!  This isn’t the first time a teacher has tried doing this…check out this story from The Stir.
