Homemade Italian Bread Recipe
Mama’s Homemade Italian Bread Recipe: I have eaten this bread my entire life!  This is my Mom’s recipe!  Both of my parents are from Italy and they even use to own an Italian Restaurant!  Give this recipe a try!  My mom cooked it EVERY Sunday growing up!!!

5 lbs of flour
3 Envelopes of Dry Yeast
1/2 Cup Sugar
1/3 Cup of Salt
4 tbs. Vegetable Oil
Warm Water

Sesame Seed Mixture:  Beat one egg and use it as paste for sesame seeds.

1.  Add Yeast to Warm Water until it dissolves.

2.  Add all the dry ingredients to the flower, and mix it.  Then create a hole in the center to poor in Yeast Water and Vegetable oil.  Then keep hand mixing and adding water until you form a big ball of dough in the consistency of peanut butter.  Cover with tea towels and blankets for an hour and a half to let the dough rise.

3. shape your bread (you can use the egg as paste and add sesame seeds prior to putting it in the oven) and bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes and then lower it to 350 for 35 minutes!

Now you can really enjoy this Homemade Italian Bread Recipe! My mom is from Italy and this is her authentic Homemade Italian Bread Recipe!  Enjoy!  It makes a lot of bread!

 Like this RECIPE!  Pin it!

How much bread does this Nona’s recipe make? 5lbs seems like a lot of flour for one recipe. How big is your mixing bowl?
    Thanks!

Till you get the right consistency…so that your bread feels like dough. Sometimes I have to add more and sometimes less.
