I am very excited to share with all of you what my Tuesday looked like in Kansas City! I was invited to attend our local Red Carpet screening of The Good Lie starring the beautiful Reese Witherspoon!  I didn’t know what to expect with this being so unique to our city!  This was my 5th Red Carpet experience and it was very unique because I was in my city!

So why would Warner Brothers want to have a Red Carpet in Kansas City and what are you going to expect when from this film?! I will share my review of the film soon, but the story of the Good Lie has some ties to Kansas City!

A Sudanese refugee is taken in by a straight-talking American woman in their new home in the United States. After their village is destroyed and their parents killed by Northern militia, Sudanese orphans Theo, his siblings and other survivors make a difficult journey to a refugee camp in Kenya. Thirteen years later, the group get the chance to settle in the U.S. They are met in Kansas by Carrie Davis (Reese Witherspoon), who has been charged with finding them jobs. However, seeing how adrift they are in 20th-century America, Carrie endeavors to help them in rebuilding their shattered lives.

I had the opportunity to meet some of the stars!  Ger Duany who plays Jeremiah in the movie is one of the Lost Boys.  He is the very tall and handsome man you see in the pictures above wearing the hat!  He was in one of my favorite (non family movies) I Heart Huckabees several years ago!  He told me he was only 12 when he was in that movie.  I asked him if he preferred modeling or acting. He responded that it was important to embrace both!

The beautiful lady above is the producer, Molly Smith! She was so cheerful, and she loves to respond to tweets so be sure to message her!  Her taking this movie on as her project comes with her own testimony of how her brother was one of the Lost Boys! She knew that she had to do this film when the movie fell in her lap several years ago!

The gentleman on the left is Emmanuel Jal! He loves music and he plays Paul.  He has been in a few films but this story is about him and his background!  The same goes with Ger!

The young little boy below is Deng Ajuet! He is from Omaha Nebraska and this is his first film. He was so excited to be there and was super sweet and smart!  I have a feeling we will see him in more movies in the future!
