Dolby Cinema at AMC Prime
Zootopia in the Dolby Cinema at AMC Prime was an overwhelming experience in an awesome way! You’ll know immediately that you’re in for a different experience as you enter a theatre where the speakers are accented by red lights. These lights drench the theatre in red which really make it feel futuristic, which it really is a futuristic experience. Then you sit in an oversized leather recliner, that’s right a full recliner. Plenty of room in front and behind to fully recline and enjoy a transformative experience that will make you feel like you’re in a living room instead of a theatre.
After you finally stop playing with the seats, it’s like you’ve never been in a recliner before, you look up and see the enormous screen that is vivid and has more depth than I’ve ever noticed in a screen. The blacks seem blacker (I know that’s a weird thing to say but it’s true) and the colors seem to pop a little more than most.

The speakers are however what really sets this theatre and this experience apart from anything you’ve ever heard. Speakers in front of you, behind you and on top of you! The sound will move like you’ve never heard or felt. Zootopia was the perfect movie to see in Dolby Cinema at AMC Prime. The scale and size of the animals coupled with the large loud city of Zootopia and all of the trains, cars and hooves! The brilliant Disney film jumps from the screen and into your lap with amazing colors and sounds that move making it feel like you’re in Zootopia!
This was the most fun we’ve ever had at the theatre, the kids loved the seats (which were huge compared to them), heck we all loved them! The speakers make an enormous difference (and yes we’ve seen the movie in a normal theatre as well)! If you’re near one of the 19 theaters in the US, see it there you won’t regret it! If you’re not fortunate enough to be near one don’t let that stop you from going to see this incredible film, you will love the massive scale differences down to the smallest details!
