SUICIDE SQUAD
by: Myla Tosatto

I have come to the conclusion that I am the only person on this planet that doesn’t like the recent incarnations of Batman and his bad guy pals. I greatly enjoy comic book movies. I didn’t, however, like Christian Bale and Heath Ledger. I know, I know! And don’t get me started on Katie Holmes. UGH. Why was she even there? Christopher Nolan is maybe not my favorite director. With this in mind, I had some major apprehension going into Suicide Squad. Out of all of the comic book characters in all of the world, Harley Quinn is my absolute favorite. I didn’t want to see her reduced to a dark, grave anti-fun character like Batman and company in prior productions. Never fear, Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) is safe in David Ayer’s Suicide Squad. So is the fun.  Be sure to also check out our favorite Suicide Squad Movie Quotes!

Suicide Squad Movie Review

The Suicide Squad is composed of some super baddies that have been locked away for what seems like forever.   They come together when the government needs their special brand of despicable skills to defeat an even bigger baddie, The Enchantress (Cara Delevingne). Deadshot (Willl Smith), Harley Quinn, Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye- Agbaje), Boomerang (Jai Courtney), Diablo (Jay Hernandez), and Katana (Karen Fukuhara) band together to save the city in the only way they can! By this I mean, snappy funny dialogue and lots and lots of violence. This movie is rated PG-13 , after all. There is a subplot that involves Jared Leto’s Joker trying to save Harley Quinn. You have to root for those two crazy kids in love.

Suicide Squad Movie Review

Is it just me or have we seen a lot of girl power in movies this summer? I ‘ll take it. Even when it is in the form of the anti-heroes, Harley Quinn and Amanda Waller (Viola Davis). Add the villain, the Enchantress, and it makes for a boisterous female empowerment evening at the movie plex.

Suicide Squad is NOW playing in theaters!
