The extraordinary true story of an unlikely friendship in the later years of Queen Victoria’s (Academy Award winner Judi Dench) remarkable rule. When Abdul Karim (Ali Fazal), a young clerk, travels from India to participate in the Queen’s Golden Jubilee, he is surprised to find favor with the Queen herself. As the Queen questions the constrictions of her long-held position, the two forge an unlikely and devoted alliance with a loyalty to one another that her household and inner circle all attempt to destroy. As the friendship deepens, the Queen begins to see a changing world through new eyes and joyfully reclaims her humanity.

Hi, almost at the end of the movie there are two Rumi quotes said by Abdul, what are they please. Thankx
Marcello says
It is about a little drop giving over or surrender to the ocean. Spoken by Abdul to the dying queen. I would very much like to know the original Rumi quote (or the exact text of the quote in the movie). I have not found it online so far. One quote can be found: “You are not just the drop in the ocean. You are the mighty ocean in the drop”, but that one was definitely not used in the movie.

I think it’s called the Headless Way
Ron Lufias says
“Listen, O drop, give yourself up without regret,
and in exchange gain the Ocean.
Listen, O drop, bestow upon yourself this honor,
and in the arms of the Sea be secure.
Who indeed should be so fortunate?
An Ocean wooing a drop!
In God’s name, in God’s name, sell and buy at once!
Give a drop, and take this Sea full of pearls.”
JOY says
Listen little drops and give yourself up without regret. You will return to the great sea.
M says
“give yourself away and in the great ocean you will be secure”
