Wow! It is about time Apple updated their operating system! It took 3 hours of downloading last night while I slept for it to update.
As many of you know, I am an Apple lover who for the last couple of weeks has transferred all my calls to my second child, my Droid Ultra.
This morning I was able to check out a few features. This is my opinion but I feel like apple took some of my Droid features and added it to their operating system. Some of the tweets I read were about Apple trying to copy from Google Droid. It made me chuckle because I don’t necessarily think it is a bad thing. I also noticed that I miraculously got all my safari bookmarks on my iPhone too…like my Droid (my husband told me it was always like that, but I have never noticed). It also has the quick pic feature like my Droid…I am seeing a trend.
I do like some of the new features of IOS and I don’t feel like there is much change. They do have some new features where you can drag down on your home screen, like my Droid.
What I find most comparable is that swiping up, down, or back all pull up different features now.
To be honest (it has nothing to do with me being a Verizon Ambassador because BOTH of my phones are Verizon phones)…my Droid just has so many MORE features that my iPhone does not have. This is not to say my iPhone is bad because I LOVE Apple but it just doesn’t have some of the bells and whistles as my Droid Ultra. I said that more than once because that is the biggest difference.
So far I can compare these phones like my two children. I love them both and they are both so different. Since they really don’t have feelings I am not worried about hurting them.
Here are some of the things I can do with my Droid that I can’t do with my real kids.
1. I can mute it at night, while in meetings, and keep it from distracting my driving! I wrote more about these features HERE.
2. It listens on demand. If I need a quick picture…all I need to do is a quick double twist and it is there!
3. It can read my mind. It is sorta spooky but it will randomly knows what I want when I want it. For example, I went to google and it knew what I was looking up from my computer at home. It has to be google…I love google!
So there it is…I love both phones…and my Droid is definitely in competition with my Apple even with the IOS update. Just like the popular sibling rivalry you would have in real life. I love them both so the saga will continue.
Disclosure: I am a Verizon Savers Voice ambassador and have been provided with a wireless device and six months of service in exchange for my honest opinions about the product. So I was honest! 🙂
