Is The Housemaid Appropriate for Kids?

What is the movie rated?
This movie was intense. You want to leave your kids at home for this one. Don’t take your adult kids. There are some very awkward scenes, and you will probably feel awkward.
This movie is rated R for strong/bloody violent content, lots of sexual content, nudity, and language. I literally had to cover my eyes on some of these scenes because they didn’t leave anything to the imagination.
What are the main themes of the movie?
This is a thriller based on the popular series of books by Freida McFadden. There are three books so far, but only he first movie was created from the first book. The movie is about abuse and deception. It is a thriller that, for sure, will have you biting your nails throughout it.

Is the movie too long for little kids?
This movie is NOT for kids. It also didn’t feel long to me at all, and it has a runtime of 2 hours and 11 minutes.
Are there any explicit content or scenes that may not be suitable for my family?
Yes. There is blood, violence, abuse, and sexual nudity. The movie was really good, but I wish they had just implied some of these scenes rather than showing us everything. In my opinion, these scenes don’t improve the movie rather make some of us feel very uncomfortable.

Movie Review
This movie is really good! After watching the trailer, this was on my list of movies I had to see! I was excited to cover the film.
The movie has some great twists and turns that I wasn’t quite expecting. The trailer does not give anything away.
I have had the book on hold with Libby for a week, and I am waiting for it to become available. If I can skip through some of the sexual scenes, I know these books will be good! I need a “made-for-TV version”.
I thought the cast did an incredible job, and every single person I talked to walking out of the theater loved it. The men and the women all thought it was great. Those who read the book also said it was pretty true to the actual book.
